Monitored Cities. And making noise.
The Monitored Cities Project will test one million people from the state of Rio de Janeiro for Covid-19's diagnosis. Action happens in 90 days
The new coronavirus pandemic drove tourism away from the State of Rio de Janeiro and other parts of Brazil and the world, directly impacting the lives of people who make a living from the activity. Thinking of collaborating with the sector and with the gradual reopening of the economy, MedLevensohn, in partnership with Veus Saúde and institutional support from the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, through the Secretary of State for Tourism (SETUR-RJ), launches the “Monitored Cities” project, which aims to test one million people from the state of Rio de Janeiro free of charge in the next 90 days for Covid-19's diagnosis.
“It is a recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO) to test the population during the coronavirus pandemic and Rio de Janeiro is one of the main ports of entry for tourists in Brazil. The “Monitored Cities” project was created with the objective of moving the productive chain of tourism throughout the State, helping in the gradual resumption of small and large events based in our State, such as New Year's Eve and Carnival”, says José Marcos Szuster, CEO from MedLevensohn.
"Monitored Cities" is an initiative that carries out preventive and monitoring actions based on the free periodic exams to detect Covid-19 and antibodies against the disease in individuals who work in the active operation of various tourism services, such as transport, hotels, commerce and food. “This action will allow us to conquer cities that are safer and more prepared to maintain their activities during the pandemic”, says Gustavo Tutuca, Secretary of State for Tourism of Rio de Janeiro.
